Serena Williams revealed a few weeks ago via Snapchat that she is expecting a baby with her 33-year-old fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
The couple got engaged in Rome last December,after dating for about two years.
The tennis star,35, has been keeping her fans regularly updated via social media on how it’s all going.
The couple also revealed that they won’t be finding out the baby’s sex because they want it to be a surprise.
“We’re waiting for a surprise,” Serena told reporters. “We call it ‘Baby.’ ”
She also said that where they’d be living once she gave birth was “the question of the hour,” but added: “I couldn’t be stuck in a more beautiful place.”
After announcing the pregnancy, a the proud mom-to-be wrote an emotional letter to ‘Baby’ on Instagram:
“My Dearest Baby, You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year.
“But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you …. once again today. On @alexisohanian bday. From the world’s oldest number one to the world’s youngest number one. — Your Mommy.”
Williams defeated her older sister Venus to be crowned the winner of the Australian Open in January while she was in the early stages of her pregnancy.
