A man identified only as Orji reportedly ended his life in third mainland bridge Lagos.
Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) on Sunday said it received a distress call about a man who committed suicide on Third Mainland Bridge.
The man who is said to be a doctor was reportedly with his driver in an SUV, when he suddenly asked his driver to stop after receiving a call.
The driver of the SUV was quoted to have said that the man asked him to stop, came out of the vehicle and jumped into the Lagoon on Third Mainland Bridge.
LASEMA General Manager, Adesina Tiamiyu, said, “preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that the man said to be medical doctor named Orji, who was being driven, ordered the driver to pull over.”
“He dropped from the car and suddenly jumped into the water from the bridge.
“The vehicle and the driver have been taken to Adeniji Adele Police Station for further investigation, while effort is ongoing to recover his body from the Lagoon.”
Tiamiyu assured that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities.
