Less than a week after she gave birth, Rebekah Vardy has turned to an unconventional method to ‘lose her baby weight’ and ‘combat post-natal depression’.
The wife of Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, 34, shared a picture of a bottle of placenta pills, alongside her dried-up organ on Instagram on Thursday – which were both tied up with a pretty bow.
Let’s do this then! Thanks so much @placentaplus #roadtorecovery’, the stunning brunette captioned the snap.
Rebekah is the latest in a long line of celebrity mums who have chosen to eat their placenta rather than have it incinerated as medical waste – Kourtney Kardashian turned hers into pills and swore they were “life changing” after she gave birth to son Reign in December 2014, and sister Kim Kardashian did the same after Saint West arrived.
Danielle Kinney, the placenta encapsulation specialist who turned Rebekah’s organ into pills, told the Mirror the health pros of the method.
‘The benefits include a faster recovery all over, a reduction of postpartum bleeding, production of more breast milk and it helps your energy levels – the list is endless.’
‘The rise in placenta encapsulation is because mums of multiple children need that extra help. This is Rebekah’s fourth child so placenta encapsulation can give her a bit of a pick-me-up,’ she continued.
